Infant/Toddler

Our infant/toddler program has been set up specifically to meet the delicate needs of precious tiny ones. We work closely with our parents to make sure these needs are met on a daily basis. Our infants and toddlers are surrounded by qualified staff who love babies and an enriching, soft environment where they can explore, play, learn, and develop safely. They also have a well-balanced, age-appropriate schedule, which includes indoor and outdoor time. We have a 1 to 4 teacher-to-child ratio, which allows plenty of one-on-one loving attention. Each day you will receive a report that gives you details of your child's day (eating, sleeping, diapering, activities, etc.).

Preschool

We combine both developmental and academic philosophies for our preschool and pre-kindergarten teaching curriculum with the main focus on the development of the whole child. This includes fine and gross motor skills; language / speech development; cognitive development; social / emotional skills; as well as creative play and exploration. There are excellent morning classes: Yellow Group for 2-year-olds turning 3 throughout the year (Potty Training not required) with a 6 to 1 ratio; Red Group for 3-year-olds turning 4; Purple Group and Pre-K class for 4-year-olds turning 5.

Jr. Kindergarten/Private Kindergarten

Every child develops and matures at different rates and with our Individualized Instruction Program, we help each child learn and prosper to the best of their ability. Our highly educated teachers understand what it takes for a child to succeed in the very competitive local schools and they help each child to be prepared for any school entry when they graduate from Peppertree. There is a perfect balance of academic and creative curriculum to allow each child to have fun while learning!

School-Age

Our before and after school program for elementary school age children includes a light breakfast in the morning before leaving for school. In the afternoon, there is a snack time, free and creative play time, tutored homework time, computer lab, and arts & crafts activities involving the community (see "Community"). Transportation to and from local schools is included in tuition. The kids get to help plan the fun calendar by choosing their own activity twice a month (i.e. "Johnny's Basketball Day" or "Susie's Watercolor Day").

Summer Camp

Peppertree School's Summer Fun Camp Program is designed with your family's needs in mind. We encourage parents to allow their children a time set aside for socialization, learning, and just plain fun! Our program is designed so you can pick your weeks and number of days and schedule around your family vacations, so you don't pay when your child's not scheduled.

Each week is a different theme where kids can decorate their classrooms, learn about the theme, and go on field trips related to the theme. We also incorporate light academics into our school-age program. There will be at least one in-home field trip per week for 2-4 year olds and two to four for 5-9 year olds. Bring a nutritious bag lunch with a drink, and we will provide nutritious snacks and drinks before and after lunch. We encourage our enrolled parents to drop by anytime and even go with us on field trips! There are two Peppertree hosted BBQs for all families to come enjoy a fun lunch with their kids. In the afternoons, we team with CityWide Aquatics and their certified swim instructors to offer professional swim lessons locally; transportation is provided.

Additonal Programs

In addition to our mainstream programs, each of our sites has sing-a-long time twice per week and an opportunity to enroll in an on-site "I Can Gymnastics" program ("I Can Gymnastics" visits our sites once per week). There is also a computer lab with both Apple computers and PCs. At our Union site we also offer an "I Can Gymnastics" program every Thursday morning for an additional fee, as well as sing-a-long twice per week with instrumental accompaniment. Computers are available in the classroom for quiet computer time.

Potty Training

Potty Training is available for children of any age. Peppertree provides all diapers, gloves, wipes, and pull-ups for diapering and potty training your child. There is an extra monthly charge for this service. Working with the parents when potty training a child is important so that the child has consistency and is experiencing the same at school as well as at home. The staff is very gentle and patient, and understands that this process happens only when the child is ready. We have videos and books to help make this process as enjoyable as possible. Once the child is completely potty trained (the child verbalizes the need to go to the bathroom, wears underwear, and has only an occasional accident), you will no longer be charged the additional service fee.

Snacks/Lunches

Children's lunches are brought from home (labeled lunchbox or bag). Peppertree provides a light early morning breakfast (between 7:00 & 7:45), arrival time snack (8:15 & 8:35), mid-morning snack (10:00 & 10:30), and a mid-afternoon snack (2:30 & 3:00). There is also a 4:00 snack where the child eats what is left in their lunchbox and if empty, is offered a snack from Peppertree. All our snacks are fresh and nutritious and are posted daily in the kitchen. Please let us know in advance if you child has any allergies. Snack and lunch times are excellent opportunities for a child to practice good cooperation, manners, taking turns and passing, pouring their own water/juice, and other socialization.

Napping/Bedding

We offer a two-hour, mid-day nap to all of our toddlers and preschool children (toddlers may sleep extra if needed). Our infants sleep according to their own needs. Peppertree provides comfy mats, which are sanitized after each use. Infants and Toddlers are provided with cribs, comfy mats and crib-sheets, but will need a labeled blanket from home. Toddlers (and older) are allowed to bring a comfort item (stuffed animal) from home to sleep with, if needed. Ages 2 and up need to bring their own bedding from home (either a crib-sheet, blanket and small pillow or sleeping bag and small pillow all kept inside a pillow-case). Older children and children who consistently don't nap, are required to rest for 30-minutes allowing them to fall asleep, if needed.
