Preschool Program
Scouts
At the Cottage House for Ages 2.5 years - 3.5 years

These kiddos are bursting with curiosity and discovery! Learning through play and sensory is best for this group, fostering experimentation, and developing natural skills that pertain to the world around them!
Classroom Environment
Each of our Scouts is a unique personality, with their own pace and preferences. Our teachers take the time to learn who your child is, and to meet them where they are.
We prioritize building strong relationships through positive modeling, patience, kindness, and genuine care, to create a foundation of trust. In this environment, children can embrace their curiosity, grow in confidence, and engage with the world around them knowing they are safe and cared for.
Breakfast, Snack & Lunch Schedule
Parents will provide a nutritious Lunch for their Scout from home daily, including breakfast if needed for early Breakfast Club drop-offs. Peppertree Cottage House provides healthy nutritious snack mid-morning and mid-afternoon! Breakfast and Lunch is not provided by Peppertree Cottage House.
Scouts will have their breakfast supported before 8:30 am., mid-morning snack at 10:15 and mid-afternoon snack at 3:00. Lunch is supported at 11:30 am each day, eating together with their classmates.
Parents should provide their Scout with a labeled water bottle to drink from throughout the day. We will refill the water bottle as needed with fresh filtered water!
No food or drink sharing is allowed between children. This ensures your child’s dietary safety, especially those with food allergies.
Napping and Bedding
As part of their developmental growth, Scouts are offered a regular nap schedule, roughly two-hours midday between 12:30pm and 2:30pm.
We offer comfy mats during nap time. Mats are covered with a fresh sheet and blanket, parent provided. All nap items are sent home at weeks end for washing and returned to school the following week.
Children who are growing out of their need for naps are required to rest quietly for a minimum of 30 minutes. Many children fall asleep during this rest period, however, those who do not may have quiet activity while laying on their mat.
Diaper Services and Potty Training
Scouts are not required to be potty-trained thus we do support the training process, providing diapers/pull-ups and wipes. There is an extra charge for support and training in this area.
Our staff is patient and kind, understanding that this process happens when the child is ready.
Play and Enrichment
At Peppertree Schools we know that play is a critical part of a child’s development.
Our Preschool Program is designed to provide our Scouts with a variety of activities through our L’l SMMARTIES program that support their development. In our focus rooms and activity centers, Scouts will have the opportunity to engage in small group play where they can build, craft, explore, and pretend. We also make sure to provide plenty of outdoor playtime where they can practice playing in larger groups, and increase their social skills.
Be sure to check our Parent Resources Page to find some fun ideas you cantry at home!
Communication with Parents
We believe in open communication with parents. We encourage parents to share what their child likes to do and any concerns they may have. Our teachers work closely with parents to support their child’s development. Parents and families will enjoy monthly Calendars of Events as well as fun and engaging News Letters, The Peppertree Post!
Parent Teacher conferences are offered twice per year, and we encourage parent meetings whenever needed!
