Toddler Program
Chickadees and Busy Bees
At the Ranch House for Ages 1-2 years

Peppertree School’s Toddler Program is specifically designed for children in the year of one. Our program offers a nurturing environment with qualified staff who love helping our Chickadees stretch their wings and bustling after our Busy Bees! We provide an engaging space where these little ones can safely explore, play, learn, and develop. All of our programs have a 1:4 or better teacher-to-child ratio, which allows for plenty of one-on-one attention.
We work closely with parents to ensure each child’s individual needs are met. New families should plan to spend a few hours in the first two weeks before starting to introduce their Chickadee or Busy Bee to the environment! This makes transitioning to the desired schedule so much easier for the child, parents, and staff. Upon registration, parents will receive our Transition-In Guide!
Individual Care
At Peppertree, we understand that every Chickadee and Busy Bee is a one-of-a-kind individual with their own developing personality. We strongly believe that every child should have the chance to explore and progress at their own speed, within a nurturing and secure environment. Our team strives to foster each child’s self-discovery while maintaining open communication with parents on a regular basis!
Feeding Schedule
Chickadees and Busy Bees are developmentally able to follow a more unified feeding schedule and will have their meals at the same times, every day, eating together with their friends. Typical times are between 7am-9am,10:30am, 1:30pm and 3:30pm.All food at this stage of life is home provided. No food or drink sharing is allowed between Chickadees and Busy Bees. This ensures your child’s dietary safety, especially those with food allergies.
Napping and Bedding
Chickadees and Busy Bees have a unified nap schedule as well, typically between 11am and 1pm. Parents of Sweet Peas, and new families, transitioning into this program can support developmental readiness by practicing the toddler sleep schedule at home. Comfort objects, such as a favorite blanket, pacifier, lovie or stuffy, to use during nap time are welcomein this program!
Diaper Services and Potty Training
We provide diaper-changing services for your Chickadee or Busy Bee every two hours or sooner as need throughout the day. Parents can provide personal preference diapers if they would like with no tuition change. As your BusyBee transitions to our Speckled Frogs at 24 months potty-training will be discussed and supported!
Play and Enrichment
Our Toddler Program includes indoor and outdoor playtime, with age-appropriate toys and equipment. We encourage Chickadees and Busy Bees to explore, play, and learn through various activities, such as art, music, andstory time. Our Busy Bees and Chickadees engage in self-directed play andare allowed to fly and set from one activity to the next, as they excitedly explore with their friends!
Please see our Parent Resources Page for fun art, sensory and music activities to do with your toddler at home!
Communication with Parents
We believe that open communication with parents is essential for providing the best possible care for their Chickadees and Busy Bees. We provide daily reports on detailed information regarding daily routine, activities and. progress, as well as monthly Calendars and News Letters! We also, encourage parents to communicate with us about any concerns or questions they may have. Parent meetings are wonderful, and encouraged!
